Management Team
Richard Crawley (Senior Partner)
Richard joined GLS as a trainee, qualified in 1978, and then spent two years in commerce seconded to a major building and construction client. He became our Senior Partner in 2005.
Richard uses the knowledge that has been gained from many years in the Profession to look after a portfolio of clients that contains a wide range of businesses, individuals and trusts.
He is trusted adviser to numerous long standing clients, who appreciate that he puts ethics before profit, an ethos that is the setting for the Firm as it progresses through the 21st Century.

Gary Cleaver (Partner)
Gary joined GLS in 1999 having gained extensive experience in the profession following his qualification in 1991. Initially with a specialist background in large client corporate audit, Gary has combined that with a solid grounding at smaller firms and now provides business advisory services to our clients across a wide range of size and business sectors.

Lawrence McAulay (Tax Partner)
Lawrence read Law at Selwyn College, Cambridge University. Since graduating in 1987 he has worked exclusively in professional practice, advising on general tax matters, with a slight leaning towards the tax affairs of high net worth individuals, owner-managed businesses and property investors and developers. Lawrence also has considerable experience in the field of HM Revenue & Customs investigations. Lawrence is a qualified Taxation Technician and Chartered Tax Adviser.

Richard Whiting (Partner)
Richard trained with a London practice and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1999. After three years in commerce Richard returned to practice and joined GLS in June 2006 as an Accounts and Audit Manager.
Although he is now a Partner, Richard's 'hands-on' leadership skills mean he is still plays a key role in the management of our Audit and Accounts services.

Paul O'Dell (Tax Manager)
In 1990, after five years as an officer of HM Revenue & Customs, Paul joined GLS, and now manages our Tax Department.
In addition to his role of overseeing the compliance work of his Tax Team colleagues, Paul advises on general tax matters, with a leaning towards capital gains tax, small businesses, employment and sub-contractor matters. Paul is a qualified Taxation Technician.

Heather Chrysandrea (Head of Administration)
Heather joined GLS in 2001 and is responsible for the Firm’s support functions, including supervising administrative and secretarial staff and maintaining resources.

Brian Davis (Head of Wealth Management)
Brian joined the firm in 1980 and was appointed manager in 1987, having previously had an extensive taxation background. He is a member of the Society of Financial Advisers and the Chartered Insurance Institute.
Brian specialises in portfolio advice and management on a non-discretionary basis, and all aspects of pensions and pre and post retirement planning. He is also involved in all aspects of wealth and tax planning, including advice on the use of trusts and offshore investments.
