Happy Retirement!

At the end of April 2023 Diane Lockwood will retire as a director at Haines Watts Nottingham Limited after just over 40 years of dedicated service to her clients.

Diane’s career began in November 1982, since then there have been many changes within the accountancy and taxation profession.  After training initially with Blythens in Nottingham, Diane joined Ling Phipp in March 1986 and became a partner in 2000.   Ling Phipp was brought into Haines Watts in 2018 and Diane became a director of Haines Watts Nottingham Limited.

Diane has enjoyed working with a large variety of clients over the years, covering a number of different sectors; soles traders, partnerships and limited companies, specialising in and advising many charity clients. With so many years of experience gained in the profession,  Diane has been able to act as a sounding board when needed proving to be a valuable asset to clients. The methodology of valuing relationships, being authentic and helping our clients to achieve their business goals is part of the Haines Watts DNA, a philosophy shared by the rest of the Haines Watts management team.
The profession has changed immeasurably since the start of my career, although of course the principals of accounting are still the same whether you are using an old adding machine or a computer. The digital age has given us new tools to offer our clients a wider range of services and with the advent of cloud-based accounting technology we can be more mobile and reactive to our client’s needs. I will miss many of my clients who over the years have become friends and most certainly I will miss the individuals I have worked with, but I feel this is the right time to take a break, rest and reflect before deciding what the future will hold.

Diane leaves behind a skilled and knowledgeable team, well able to continue to provide the highest standards of service to her clients, a legacy she can surely be extremely proud of.

All of Diane's Haines Watts colleagues wish her all the very best for a long and happy retirement!
